GEOGRAPHICAL PROCESSES RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS NATURAL DISASTER.

There are many geographical processes associated with floods.

Soil:
Different types of soil have different capacities of retaining rainwater, some can't hold it. When the soil type is not strong enough to hold rain water, flooding will commence.

Monsoon:
A monsoon is a series of strong winds from in the direction of the Indian Ocean, and is characterised by heavy rainfall. When the amount of heavy rainfall reaches a certain rainfall, (that is, heaps of rain falls,) floods could begin.

Levee:
A levee is a bank to prevent flooding. When rivers break through their levees, floods will ensue.

Waterlogging:
When the land becomes saturated with water, eventually floods will form.
